We are at a dinner party, sitting around the table. No one is talking.

Two men start a conversation about a book they both have read that no one else has read.

They talk non-stop, taking up all the air space, leaving no room for anyone else to participate.
The rest of us might as well not be there. Unskilled at relating, we feel at a loss about what to do.

And so, what is relating? How do we connect with the live energy that engages each other,
and makes interaction worthwhile?

Mike knows how to relate to others. He perceives where a person actually is,
what matters to them in a particular moment, often teasing them to get live responses.

It takes a kind, compassionate heart to pull this off. It can just as well be used to embarrass.
Fortunately, Mike has a kind, playful heart. He makes it safe to relate through engaging with what is true.

Every contact with another person is an opportunity for soul connection.

It is living energy interacting with the living energy of another, creating new,
as of yet unknown, possibilities.
